Cassie's Story
Cassie is a teen-age large pony, probably of Arabian descent.
She arrived at our barn, the summer of 2005, after a call from Gail Ray.
Gail had heard through a friend that she was going to be sold to a horse dealer that
day. Apparently, she had been abandoned several months before, when her previous
owners sold their property. They left her there,to fend for herself. Fortunately,
Cassie was very friendly and very beautiful to look at. However, she did not load and
had not been broken.
At the current time, we had no funds for another horse and I knew we could not take
her, however, Gail offered to pay for her food and find a home for her. So, of course,
I agreed and we sped off, in the heat to retrieve the unwilling. Cassie did agree, to my
terms and was on her way home within minutes.
It was only a matter of days, before our wonderful neighbor, Ruth Mararac decided to
adopt her. Cassie is a matching bookend to Khami, Ruth's registered Arabian.
Cassie is currently under saddle, lunges with side-reins, and walks trot, canter and
jumps.
Cassie has been added to the list of rescues stabled at Grace for life rescue.
